In order to ensure public safety and well-being during the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, Ontario has declared a Restricted Fire Zone for the entire fire region of the province (Restricted Fire Zones 1 to 36) which includes the Bruce Peninsula, effective April 3rd, 2020 at 12:01 a.m.

All burning permits are cancelled and NO open fires are allowed unless the fire is for cooking or warmth and is in a stove or installation prescribed in the Outdoor Fire Regulation (O.Reg. 207/96).

Under O. Reg. 119/20: Order Under Subsection 7.0.2. (4) – Closure of Places of Non-Essential Businesses. Filed April 3, 2020 under Emergency Management and Civil Protection ACT, R. S. O. 1990, c. E9.
The short term rental information is effective April 4, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
Information pertaining to short term rentals is as follows:

3. (1) Every person who provides short term rentals in rental accommodations shall ensure that any rentals booked after April 4, 2020 are only provided to individuals who are in need of housing during the emergency period.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply in respect of hotels, motels and student residences.
An official press release will be issued Monday, April 6, 2020; however, Council wants to ensure all residents have the latest information.
