St. Edmunds Property Owners, Inc.

MEMO #2-2024

  • To lead collective action in support of the long term affordable enjoyment of our properties in an unspoiled natural environment.
  • To encourage responsible attitudes for sustaining the high quality of life on our St. Edmunds properties.
Hello subscriber,

Your financial support is essential in order to maintain SEPO's presence for the benefit of all property owners. Please renew your membership:
  • St. Edmunds Property Owners, Inc. represents all property owners in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. Now, more than ever, property owners in the MNBP need a united voice to speak on everyone's behalf.
  • This Municipality consistently increases property taxes beyond the rate of inflation. Last year's increase was 6.45%.
  • The Draft 2024 Budget calls for a whopping 9.1% municipal tax increase on top of last year's 6.1% increase.
  • At a Special Council Meeting scheduled for January 17, our Mayor and his Council will be reviewing estimates for the Lion's Head Arena and Community Centre Project. The preliminary estimate does not include extra expenses.
  • In 2023, Bruce County taxed the residents of Northern Bruce Peninsula 8.7 Million Dollars with minimal visible return in support to this community. SEPO continues pressing Bruce County for an accounting of how our money was dispersed.
  • Last year's budget included a $250,000.00 expense to replace a piece of equipment well short of its anticipated life.
  • We continue to be overwhelmed with tourists with no apparent long range tourism plans.
If you are one of 187 members who purchases propane from Sparlings at SEPO's negotiated price of 56.9 cents/litre, your membership must remain in good standing.
